England progress to the last 8

Wow! What a second half performance England put on yesterday evening. I have to admit, when the Norwegian goal went in, I feared the worst. Even at that stage, I thought England had made a good account of themselves in the World Cup, despite having a pretty poor performance in the final third stemming from a lack of an end product. Then, up jumps captain fantastic Steph Houghton who heads in a pin point cross.

Little Kickers had sent a good luck video to the team which also starred Steph's nephew, so we take full responsibility for her goal!

England piled on the pressure and Samson's ladies starting to attack with real intent. Some neat passing led to a fabulous strike from distance by the talented Lucy Bronze which left her foot at some pace and blasted into the net past the outstretched keeper.

A superb performance and a great result. England showed a grit and determination and were clinical when it mattered. England now face Canada in Vancouver on Saturday. It will be a tight game but England will go into the game full of confidence of progressing to the semi-finals and from that point... who knows!
